Current BishopPhillips Products

Through its software engineering arm Bishop Phillips Consulting is a developer of software in its own right. Our applications range from 3G windows applications, to full E enabled application suites. We have a number of new technologies under development, but some of those available now include:

BPC RiskManager V6

BPC RiskManager is a corporate and project risk assessment, evaluation, remediation and management tool. It is designed to be populated under both workshop conditions and continuously through remote risk managers. It includes comprehensive built-in and end user reporting, ad-hoc enquiries, scorecard analysis, as well as audit & compliance tracking. Integrating fully into your organisation with huge scalability for simultaneous users, emailed event management, and integration API's, it also integrates with our BPC SurveyManager (for organisation wide compliance and control self assessment) and BPC IncidentManager (for hazard and incident reporting). The system is fully standards compliant and supports risk and strategy owners and delgates, managed risk and strategy (treatment) transferring and linking, multiple simultaneous risk organisation structures, multiple risk calculation models, single screen data entry, multiple simultaneous assessments, risk targets (risk budgets), risk & strategy level security allowing granuar control over "who can see what". Customisable internal incident table definitions to allow integration with your own incident management solution, or with ours. You can choose whether you want key tables like causes, consequences, strategies, actions, resources, categories, etc to be dynamically populated or restricted to ensure cross-organisation standardisation.
It can fit on a laptop machine or be used as a full enterprise solution for organisations with tens of thousands of employees.
Some industries have prepopulated standard risk databases reflecting our extensive experience in the risk management space.

Used successfully by larger entities such as major telco's, logistics businesses, insurance providers and universities in both risk management projects and continuously in a corporate governance role. Some recent projects in which it has been used include, internal audit, Y2K, and the Sydney Olympics. It can handle the risk data needs of the largest Australian corporates with thousands of users; while being fast and simple enough to use at the project level in a single desk-top or small network configuration.

BPC RiskManager is available in SQL Server 7/2000/2005 Versions.

Although BPC RiskManager is heavilly configurable, we find that many clients like individual modifications which we are very happy to undertake. The BPC RiskManager system comes in several flavours (all configured from the basic RiskManager product) including AuditManager, ComplianceManager and RiskManager.

BPC RiskManager Express V5

BPC RiskManager Express is a corporate and project risk assessment, evaluation, remediation and management tool for smaller risk teams (not smaller organisations!). With the same huge scalability if the BPC RiskManager V6, it adopts a control focussed view of risk management making it ideal for compliance oriented risk management teams. A unique and highly attractive feature of the Express version, is its single screen risk data entry design, making it perhaps the simplest most straight forward Enterprise Risk Management solution available today, and ideal for the start-up risk team.
It is designed to be populated under both workshop conditions and continuously through remote risk managers. It includes comprehensive built-in reporting, ad-hoc enquiries, scorecard analysis, as well as audit & compliance tracking. It supports integration with our BPC SurveyManager and BPC IncidentManager products.

BPC SurveyManager V7

Quite simply the most stunning survey engine you will see anywhere. The most common comment we receive is that the name of the product does not come close to what this engine can do. At it's simplest the BPC SurveyManager is designed to build, deliver and manage surveys (questionaires) on massive scale. It is, however, powerful and flexible enough that the definition language and the engine can build and deliver entire websites.
The design rule was that we wanted a system that could support control self assessment or compliance checklists in an organisation with more than 100,000 employees who had to complete their checklists at 4.50 PM on a Friday afternoon, without delaying their departure. We wanted a survey to be able to be created and published to it's responders in less than five minutes. This engine does it. It is fast - very, very fast.

It creates complex page layouts with many questions to a page, it has a huge number of builtin question and response formats and includes its own security system so you can have both anonymous and auditable surveys. Questions can have self assessed importance ratings, multiple responders (eg. a reviewer that annotates the answer of another), questions that appear to only certain types of responders, 360-degree surveys, dynamic selection of the next question based on the previous answers, checklists, free text, file upload, radio lists, drop down lists, selection lists, check boxes, dates (in many input modes from free text to pop-up date pickers, and many many other formats.
It has an incredibly pwoerful internal rules engine for analysing a responder's answer and deciding on the next question, including a natural language parser (for simulating discussions). It has a plug in architecture at the backend that allows it to integrate with external systems on a question by question basis, and get results from those systems and use those results in the internal rules engine to display to the user or decide the next questions to ask.

The builtin reporting system allows the results of other surveys to be used dynamically (in real time) as part of a question text or to make question selection decisions and of course, to get a simple instantaneous analysis of the results recieved to a survey in real time.

The layout engine is so powerful that it supports both conventional 'question-answer' layouts as well as free text embedded report layouts. This allows the survey engine to present the survey in the form of a final text or board report where the correct responses are completed/selected, and with instantly deliver the final printable view of the report.
This list scrartches only the surface of what this engine can do.

Project Manager

The Project Manager suite of project management tools provides a number of facilities not covered by conventional GAANT chart drawing PM tools. Such facilities include project risk and issue management, project communications and documentation management.

It is a perfect complement to MS Project and Project Centre. For larger projects it can be implemented under MS TeamServices or MS SharePoint to provide web based project control. It reflects the Acumen Alliance Project Method.

BAS Engine

A powerful BAS preparation and management system designed to handle tens of thousands of transactions per month. The system interfaces with any source finance and business system and provides a full BAS Cell ledger, with internal source data archiving, inter-cell posting and full integration with XL for reporting.

The BAS Engine prepares Australian Business Activity Statements according to user definable calculation rules.

Fully configurable for legislative changes, the application runs under a variety of SQL databases including MS SQL Server and Interbase. It comes as both a multi-user and single user configuration.

XL Interfacing Engine

The XL interfacing engine is the heart of the BAS Engine. It provides a Cell oriented ledger allowing the posting of any imported file via the Ledger to XL. This is not merely an extraction of data and conversion to an XL table but a targeted placement of individual values and formulae in a specific workbook, on a specific sheet, in a specific cell - all defined in, and stored by, the engine in the SQL database. The engine itself is like a general ledger with an XL front end - with the spreadsheet tightly woven through the data structure.

The engine is written in Delphi, and performs all data storage and analysis work internally, using XL only for data reporting and data entry. Imports can be drawn in from almost any external system in almost any data format, including irregular formats (ones that change from line to line).

The system uses MS SQL server (though a numberof others are supportable), and is fully configurable with a special language for defining data translation, repair and verification rules, and business rules for posting, etc.

Client Management System for Disability and Carer Based Services

Developed in conjunction with the SSOV, the Client Management System provides a wide range of client management services for charities and other not-for-profit agencies providing health care, accommodation, and fee based services. It is compliant with Victorian Government (DHS) privacy and reporting requirements.

The CMS is designed to operate across many remote sites using low speed (Dial-up) network connections, and integrates to back-end accounting systems. It tracks client histories, special care needs, and therapy as well as bookings and a complex array of contracted service scenarios - both group and individual. It can report on therapist and carer bookings and histories as well.

RFP Evaluator

The RFP Evaluator is a tender evaluation management system designed for larger tenders with many evaluators and a complex variety of scoring rules. The application takes the tender specification document paragraph by paragraph with weights and accumulation criterion, and therefrom builds a decision tree.

Multiple scorers, including the tenderer themselves can enter scores. Some scorers can be designated as super-evaluators allowing partial scoring by other evaluators and/or moderating their scores. Tenderers' scores can be used as a veracity check on claim integrity.
